Classic Wii Series: Wii Play
Had to go and replay this one. Been a long time, I guess. OVERVIEW: Action based minigames were really a big thing on the Wii software, and certainly the console lent itself well to that end. Some games were known for having varied, unique experiences that ran the gamut from simple to stunning, engaging to easily mastered. Sometimes those games were themed, other times they were just a seemingly random collection of games. This Wii Play game seemed to be the latter, but that doesn't make it a bad collection. Limited, perhaps, but not bad by any means. Admittedly, it's not the best animated gif, but it'll do for now. Wii Sports would introduce classic sports titles - Tennis, Bowling, Golf, Baseball and then Boxing - while Wii Play would focus on some smaller, but no less impressive activities, and create its own spins and twists with activities you'd never consider or experience in reality. You know, the more I think about it, the more I feel like I should just get this out there and give it a proper write-up, even if I don't think we've really heard the end of what was among the most controversial and significant cases of the 1990s. Oranthol James Simspon has died of cancer at the age of 76, a sad moment but one that inspired tweets like the one from Caitlyn Jenner - along the lines of the phrase "good riddance." Ouch. Suppose there's more to that discussion, and certainly I'm going to start it. Let's focus on the positive first. In the late 70s, the football player O.J. Simpson played for the Bills, was a Heisman-winning player known for being a dominant runningback, and had several impressive seasons - I think about eleven - before retiring in 1979 and becoming a professional pitchman. Suppose I'll have to upload my avatars at some point... or at least screenshots of the happy crew... that's a project for tomorrow! Now we get into the Wii era. I can tell you're excited. Aren't you excited? I'm excited... OVERVIEW: In 2005, Nintendo teased something big when they had chairman Iwata-san and Miyamoto-san going to a random kid's house and bowing, saying they would like to play. And then they showed up with this little remote-like controller that resembled a controller - or was it? - and before we knew it, yes! It was a controller - in fact it was the next great breakthrough in gaming - though sadly it would become a fad and even a relic some short few years later. Either way, in 2006, when the new console came to the states, we all wanted one - and not just hardcore gamers, neither - everyone as soon wanting to play together again. So many people wanted to play, in fact, that you simply could not find a Wii to play with for the first two waves of
International Mermaid Day
Is that a thing? My inner skeptic is musing, and while March seems to have been adopted as Women's History Month and everything though it's taken at minimum twenty years for the US to really embrace International Women's Day - the first of which I learned about in China of all places during my visit there in 2000 - I still wonder if International Mermaid Day might make as much of an impact, though the representation of mermaids seems to be only marginal at best. Needless to say, mermaids are a little more vocal about themselves in my stories but not necessarily on the international scene in the modern world. But hey, reality is only partially interesting, it'n it? Suppose today could be international mermaid day; for now we'll just get on with the news. Last weekend was the spring craft fair at the Eagan Community Center and the first big spring blizzard. Oooh man!
That really sucks Agent! >< I know this feeling all too well, I have lost multiple projects I have done because either my comp crashed or DAZ froze. (sometimes hours worth of stuff lost!) I sometime forget to save when I'm deep in bog projects, thinking I'll save once its done. BAD idea! Now, I save every 3-5 mins, not taking that chance anymore. ><
I really wish MS put in some kind of failsafe option where if someone works on something and their comp/program crashes, you can retrieve the lost document. (Doesn't MS or maybe it was Wordperfect, had a built in save feature where it automatically saved for you every 2 mins or so?) Man, that is a GUT-wrenching feeling when you lose work you have been working on for a long time and have to start over from scratch! (and have no recollection of what you wrote)
I do hope that somehow you can get more time to work on this from your editors, I know deadlines are a PAIN when it comes to stuff like this. :\
Also, hope you get time to watch the Superbowl too, NE wins 28-26, on a game-winning Brady drive!
